We've all been there.
You're busy and have been holding off on cleaning your piece. Weeks of wax reclaim start to build up. Your glass is starting to get clogged and your dabs taste horrible; it's definitely time for you to clean your glass.
You definitely don't want to spend hours toiling over your piece, vigorously scrubbing away at every little spot. There's got to be a better way...
And, of course, there is. In this video, we'll show you the best way to clean your resin to bring it back to look brand new!
Before rinsing, warm the water up so that it's warm to the touch. The warm water softens the concentrate and causes it to break up easier. Once the water's warm, go ahead and run some water through the pipe. Shake vigorously to dislodge the concentrate inside.
After rinsing your dab rig, you'll want to add some cleaning product to easily clean out the tougher resin buildup. We recommend Formula 710 because it's highly effective, biodegradable, and reusable, but feel free to use whatever you prefer.
If your dab rig has a small mountain of resin buildup, we recommend letting it soak it Formula 710 overnight. This softens up and dissolves the resin. Afterwards, shake vigorously for several minutes to remove any product within the pipe. Use some pipe cleaning brushes to remove remaining resin from your piece. For bongs, bubblers, and dab rigs, this is usually around the neck, percolators, and downstem.
This will remove whatever stains are left, and will sterilize your equipment. For the best results, we recommend letting the alcohol soak for a few hours. As always, be sure to shake vigorously for better cleaning. Sometimes, other tools are required to clean trouble spots in glass. We use our stainless steel scraper tool to help with these spots.
After cleaning all the trouble spots in your glass, pour out the isopropyl and warm up some water for the final rinse. You'll want to make sure to rinse vigorously to remove any residual alcohol or formula 710. After all, butane torch and leftover isopropyl can make for a flaming hot combination.
Depending on how dirty your dab rig is, you may not have to complete all of these steps. The more often you clean your glass, the less steps you'll need to go through. Of course, cleaning your glass after every session is optimal, but we both know that's probably not going to happen. Cheers to a clean piece and more tasty dabs!
